Overview
vidIQ is a tool for analytics and prompts for video authors. It works both as a browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and as a separate application.
The capabilities are listed in the machine-readable index llms.txt, which the tool keeps on the site for reading by programs (19,942 characters on the date of the check — that is our own measurement of the file, not a claim by the tool). They are confirmed by separate pages: selection of the best time to publish (Best Time to Post on YouTube Tool), a hashtag generator (YouTube Hashtag Generator), an AI assistant — "AI Coach for YouTube | Powered by Your Channel Data" (the page of the feature), and also competitor analysis, ascribed to the extension.
The interface language of the homepage is en-US. The hreflang markup on the site declares seven language versions: en, es, fr, pt, ru, tr, vi. The Russian version is not only for the site: the page of the affiliate programme exists in Russian too.
Which platforms it works with
There are two platforms. The formulation of the homepage is "One App for YouTube & Instagram", and the page about Instagram specifies: "Use the same vidIQ account for both YouTube and Instagram. Your subscription covers all platforms". That is, a separate subscription for the second platform is not required.
The main platform is YouTube: almost all the functions named relate to it, including the selection of the time to publish, the hashtag generator and the AI assistant working on the channel's data.
The depth of support for Instagram has not been established. An early reading of the pricing page gave only a mention of "vidIQ for Instagram"; what exactly the tool can do in Instagram does not follow from the sources.
Pricing
The plans from the plans page: Free — 0, Boost, Max — 39 USD a month with annual payment, Enterprise — on request.
A reservation is needed here, and a serious one. An anomaly: the Boost plan is shown when read as 0 USD a month with annual payment, which is impossible for a paid plan. The price of Boost, then, is unknown from the source and requires a manual re-check. The figure of 39 USD relates only to the Max plan.
What is free
There is a free plan, and its boundary is named outright: 150 notional AI units a month (plans).
Restrictions
The main measure is notional AI units a month: Free 150, Boost 2,000, Max 6,000 (plans).
What exactly a unit means the page does not explain: how many units one action costs is not said. The issue of 6,000 units on the senior plan has the same trouble — the number is known, the price of an action is not. A separate check adds that on the junior plans the number of units is not named at all on the same page; in another fact they are nevertheless given (2,000 for Boost), and that is a discrepancy between two readings of one page.
Daily and monthly limits on the analyses themselves or on requests to YouTube the tool does not name.
How you earn with it
An affiliate programme is announced — the vidIQ Affiliate Program (the page of the programme, there is a Russian version as well).
The rate grows by levels tied to the number of sales: Associate (0–10 sales) — 15%, Influencer (11–50) — 20%, Ambassador (51 and more) — 25%. The levels also give an address of one's own for the link, a free vidIQ Boost and joint materials.
The accrual is recurring, but with a condition formulated in the agreement: "Payment will be made only on continuous subscriptions for subscribers that are in compliance with their subscription agreement with us" — they pay while the subscription is in force; there is no explicit limiting term.
The lifetime of the click tag is 90 days: the buyer must come by the affiliate link "within 90 days of the last click". Note that on the landing page itself this term is not named, it is only in the text of the agreement.
The payouts are PayPal, electronic transfer, a cheque or another method at vidIQ's choice; the money arrives roughly 60 days after the end of the month in which the payment from the referred client came in.
Admission is by application, with refusal at vidIQ's discretion; the programme is designed for existing users of the tool. Promotion of materials of a sexual character, of violence, of discrimination, of illegal activity, infringement of trademarks and misleading devices are forbidden.
What it will not do
The tool is not intended for scheduling and publishing posts to third-party social networks: it has two platforms — YouTube and Instagram — and it analyses both rather than running them for you.
It will not let you work with AI without restriction: even on the senior Max plan that is 6,000 notional units a month, on the free one — 150.
How much the Boost plan costs cannot be said from the page: the price is shown as 0 USD a month with annual payment, which is plainly an error of the reading or of the page. What exactly the tool can do in Instagram and how deeply does not follow from the sources. How many notional AI units one action costs the tool does not disclose. A minimum sum for payout in the affiliate programme is named neither on the landing page nor in the agreement.
