International SMM

Smarsh

Tool · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Smarsh is a tool for capturing, archiving and supervising electronic messages. Its self-description on the home page: "Helping companies manage the risk in their electronic communications. Cloud-based capture, archiving and supervision solutions across more than 80 channels". The figure "more than 80 channels" belongs to Smarsh: it is the tool's own claim about itself, not an independent measurement.

The task of this tool is the opposite of a scheduler's. It does not help you publish — it preserves what has already been said and makes it available for review. The key word of the self-description is "risk": the tool is addressed to companies obliged to retain correspondence and to be able to produce it.

The interface language of the home page is en-US. A machine-readable index llms.txt is present on the site; the size of the file on the date of the check was 7,744 characters — that is our own measurement, not a claim by the tool.

Which platforms it works with

The lists are taken from the capture channels page, and on it they are divided by kind.

The "Social" section names ten channels: LinkedIn, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, BombBomb, Facebook, TikTok, Vidyard, Vimeo, X, YouTube, Instagram. Note the composition: social networks in the usual sense number six here, the rest are the video tools Vidyard, Vimeo, BombBomb and a separate entry for LinkedIn Sales Navigator, which the tool counts as a channel in its own right.

The "Mobile / Text" section of the same page holds twenty-two entries: AT&T, Bell, Captivated, CellTrust, MyRepChat, O2, Redtail Speak, Rogers, GoToConnect, Hearsay, Hutchison 3g, T-Mobile, Telegram, Telus, Truphone, US Cellular, Verizon, WeChat, WhatsApp Business, Workchat, Zoom, Android. Four of them are messengers: Telegram, WeChat, WhatsApp Business and Workchat. The rest are telecoms operators and telephony services, that is, capture comes not only from the applications but from the operator's side as well.

Squaring this with the "more than 80 channels" of the self-description is not possible on our data: two sections of one page were checked, not the whole list of them.

How you earn with it

A partner track exists, but no money is named in it.

According to the partners page, the programme is divided into tracks: Technology and Alliance, Consulting, Reseller Partners and Referral Partners. The last of these is what is usually called a referral programme.

The commission for a client you bring in is not announced in figures. There is neither a rate nor a fixed sum on the page. The order of payouts is not described: recurring income ("recurring revenue stream") is mentioned only for resellers, not for those who simply bring in a client. Tracking of click-throughs is not described at all — there is no lifetime of the click tag. Neither the payout threshold nor the payout methods are named.

What is known for certain is how to get in: admission is by application through the form smarsh.com/partner-interest, and existing partners have access to the portal partnerportal.smarsh.co. No requirements for participants are listed publicly. There are no public terms for the programme.

Neighbouring addresses were checked and do not help: /affiliate, /affiliates, /affiliate-program and /referral return 404. There is a single working page — /partners.

What it will not do

There is in essence one confirmed refusal here, and it concerns the affiliate programme: finding out how much you will be paid before submitting an application is impossible. The page names neither a rate, nor a sum, nor a threshold, nor a payout method, nor any tracking of click-throughs, and the programme has no public terms. Recurring income is directly attributed to resellers, not to participants in the referral track. The tool has no separate addresses for an affiliate programme either — four expected ones return 404.

And one more thing, important for a reader of this catalogue: Smarsh is not meant for publishing posts. The platforms in its lists are sources from which messages are pulled into the archive.

The open pages name no prices, no composition of plans and no information about a free plan or a trial period; limits on volume and retention period, on the number of users and connected channels are not set out; neither API access nor interface language versions beyond English are described. The self-description speaks of more than eighty channels, while only two sections spell any out.
