Overview
LiveChat is a live chat program for a website. This is how the tool describes itself: "LiveChat® is the best AI live chat software for business, perfect for ecommerce and B2B. It powers real-time website support, boosting sales and customer satisfaction" (homepage). The words "best" and "perfect for" are its own assessment, not the result of a measurement.
The purpose is clear from that phrase: support for the visitors of a site in real time, aimed at online commerce and at sales to companies.
The interface language of the homepage is en-US, and eight language versions are declared for the site: de, en-us, es, fr, ja, pt, ru, zh (homepage). A Russian version is among them — that is a rarity among tools of this kind and reason enough to look at the site in your own language.
The site is prepared for reading by programs: there is a machine-readable index llms.txt of 19,862 characters — noticeably more than for most tools in the catalogue. The length is our own measurement on the date of the check, not a claim by the tool.
Which platforms it works with
The talk is of receiving messages, not of publishing posts. The channels page lists in the "Messaging channels" section, in the order of the page: the chat widget (Chat widget), Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Business, Twilio SMS, Instagram for business, the chat page (Chat page), Apple Messages for Business.
Two items out of the seven are LiveChat's own channels, not third-party platforms: the widget on your site and a separate chat page. That leaves five external directions, and two of them are social networks in the customary sense: Messenger and Instagram.
Note the reservations in the names. Instagram is connected in the variant for business — "Instagram for business". WhatsApp is named as WhatsApp Business, that is, it requires the corresponding access at the platform itself. SMS go not directly but through Twilio — a third-party tool that will have to be set up separately.
How you earn with it
The affiliate programme is announced and lives on a separate site: partners.livechat.com. The addresses /partners and /partner-program on www.livechat.com lead there too. The programme is common to the products of the company Text — LiveChat, ChatBot and HelpDesk — that is, customers of any of the three can be brought in.
The rate: "20% for each paid subscription brought in through your affiliate link", and after five paying customers it rises to 22 %.
The crediting is recurring and not limited by term: "the commission is earned on every payment made by the customer you referred, for as long as their subscription is active". As long as the referred person pays, you are paid too.
The lifetime of the click tag is 120 days ("the cookie lasts 120 days").
The payout threshold is named directly: "the minimum amount for withdrawal of your earnings is $50". There is one method — PayPal eChecks; for a withdrawal the PayPal details have to be given.
Taking part is free, registration is enough, and no restrictions are listed on the page. Besides the affiliate programme the company has separate directions, Solution Partner and Technology Partner, on text.com/partners — those are other kinds of cooperation.
What it will not do
There is nowhere to read the full terms of the affiliate programme. On the programme page there is only a link to the general legal section text.com/legal/, while the expected addresses of the form /legal/affiliate-program-terms/ on both livechat.com and text.com answer with code 404 — checked during the collection.
Withdrawing what has been earned by any means other than PayPal will not come off: the page names no other ways, and below the threshold of 50 USD the money is not given out at all.
LiveChat is not meant for publishing posts to social networks: all the platforms named take part as channels for receiving messages.
There is no section about cost in this deep dive: the sources we checked name no prices for LiveChat. There is no data either about a free plan or a trial period, about limits on the number of operators and chats, or about a programming interface.
