Chatfuel
Tool · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.
Overview
Chatfuel is a tool for automating correspondence with customers: bots, replies and sales in direct messages and messengers. The self-description from the homepage: "From the first lead to a returning client — Chatfuel automates your entire sales cycle on Instagram, WhatsApp, and TikTok. Trusted by 18,000+ businesses. Official Meta Business Partner." Both the eighteen thousand companies and the Meta partner status are the tool's own claims.
The interface language of the homepage is en; no other language versions are declared by the markup.
A separate integrations page the tool does not have — the usual address returns 404. That complicates the check: the list of channels has to be assembled not from a catalogue but from the description of the plans.
Which platforms it works with
The confirmed list is taken word for word from the line of the Chatfuel Light plan on the pricing page: "Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp automations". Three channels — Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp.
And here the source contradicts itself. The self-description on the homepage names Instagram, WhatsApp and TikTok, without mentioning Facebook. The plan names Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook, without mentioning TikTok. Only two channels out of three coincide.
Getting to the bottom of it helps only in part. On the homepage the logos in the "Works with" block are loaded by a script, and the TikTok channel is not named there as text — that is, confirming it by reading the page did not succeed. An absence of confirmation is not equal to an absence of support, but we cannot count TikTok as a confirmed channel either: the only verifiable list is the line of the plan, and TikTok is not in it.
The practical conclusion: Instagram and WhatsApp are named in both places and raise no doubts; Facebook is confirmed by the plan; TikTok is declared only by the advertising line of the homepage.
How you earn with it
An affiliate programme is announced as the Chatfuel Affiliate Program; the affiliate dashboard is on the subdomain affiliate.chatfuel.com, and the accounting is run through FirstPromoter. A link to the programme stands both in the header and in the footer of the homepage.
The rate grows by tiers. What is declared is "earn up to 50 % recurring commission for up to 12 months", and behind the wording "up to" stands a ladder of four steps: Bronze 30 %, Silver 35 %, Gold 40 %, Platinum 50 %. The thresholds for moving between the tiers are not named on the page — how many customers have to be brought in to get from Bronze to Silver is unknown. It makes sense to start out oriented towards 30 %, not towards 50 %.
A ceiling per customer. "Commission is capped at $2,000 per referred customer" — however much a large customer pays, more than two thousand dollars from them the affiliate will not receive.
The term of the accruals. Recurring payouts, but no longer than twelve months from the payments of the customer brought in.
The click tag lasts 60 days. "Chatfuel uses a 60-day tracking window". The accounting runs by two routes: by the referral link and by a promo code, that is, a customer who came without a click but with a code is credited too.
How they pay. PayPal through the FirstPromoter platform, payouts monthly — "where available in the affiliate's country". The reservation belongs to the tool and means that the availability of the payout depends on the country.
Who is admitted. Agencies and consultants, content creators and publishers, creators on social networks, performance marketers, teachers and communities. Admission is by application with approval. There are no limits on the number of referrals.
What is forbidden. Paid advertising — without the written permission of Chatfuel. The ban is broad: it closes off not only brand search advertising but paid promotion in general, until permission is obtained.
What it will not do
It will not pay more than 2,000 dollars from a single customer. The ceiling is named outright and does not depend on the size of the subscription.
It will not pay for longer than a year. Twelve months is the limit of the recurring accruals.
It will not give 50 % straight away. The top rate is the fourth step of the ladder, and the conditions for getting there the tool does not publish.
It will not pay outside PayPal. No other payout methods are named on the page, and the availability of the payout itself the tool qualifies by the affiliate's country.
It will not show a separate document of the programme terms. "Program Terms" are mentioned several times on the page, but the link leads to that very same page; in the footer lie only the general terms of use, written not about the affiliate arrangement.
It will not name a payout threshold. The minimum sum for a withdrawal is not stated on the page.
