Terms of use

The catalogue is open to read. These terms are about what you may do with what is in it, and they are short because there are few prohibitions.

What you may do freely

Read, link, quote with attribution. A link to the catalogue page and to the primary source named in the fact is attribution enough.

Check up on us. Every fact carries the address of the document and the date it was checked, precisely so that a reader can open it and compare. That is not a courtesy, it is how the catalogue is built.

Use it in your work. Preparing a report for a client, choosing a platform, verifying terms before a deal — this reference book was made for that.

Worth keeping in mind

The facts in the catalogue are a retelling of, and quotations from, someone else's documents. Rights to the documents themselves belong to the platforms and services. We reproduce them to the extent accuracy requires, and always with an address.

Names and marks of platforms, services and companies belong to their owners. A mention in the catalogue implies neither a connection with them nor their endorsement.

What not to do

Pass our information off as your own verification. If you cite a number from the catalogue, it came from the catalogue, and your reader benefits from knowing the chain is one link longer.

Treat the catalogue as a substitute for reading the source when the decision costs money. Information goes stale; see the disclaimer.

Scrape the site in bulk. The catalogue is static and small, but load for its own sake helps no one. If you need a data export — write to us, that is a reasonable request.

If you are a rights holder

If you believe the volume quoted from your document is excessive, or that what we say about your service is wrong — tell us. We check against the source and correct it; a wrong fact is not deleted quietly but moved to the log of withdrawn facts, with the reason stated.
