Trengo

Tool · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Trengo describes itself like this: "Enhance customer interactions with Trengo's AI-powered engagement platform. Automate workflows and manage omnichannel communication effortlessly from a single dashboard" (homepage). That self-description is the tool's own claim about itself, not an independent assessment.

The tool's work is correspondence with customers brought together into a single inbox: enquiries from different channels arrive in one shared console. Publishing posts to social network feeds is not its occupation.

The interface language of the homepage is en. The hreflang markup declares six language versions: de, en, es, fr, it, nl.

Separately about the developer interface. On the homepage the address developers.trengo.com/docs/welcome was found, but the address itself does not open: there is a link, with no documentation visible behind it. A programming interface cannot be counted as confirmed on that basis — the conclusions from a link that opens and from one that does not are different.

Which platforms it works with

The list of channels is taken from the omnichannel inbox page, from the "Conversations" block: Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, VoIP, Gmail, Outlook. The spelling is kept as on the page.

In the frequently asked questions on the same page the set is described differently: "email, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct Messages, live chat, SMS, and more". The two lists do not agree: the first has Telegram, Gmail and Outlook, while the second has live chat and SMS in their place, and Facebook and Instagram are narrowed down to Messenger and direct messages. The tool therefore has no exact closed list; "and more" in the second list is its own wording.

Social networks here, as with other correspondence tools, are present on their private side: messages, not feeds.

How you earn with it

The partner direction "For affiliates & referrals" is announced on the partners page. The addresses /affiliate, /affiliates, /partners and /referral give 404; there are two working addresses — /partner and /partners/affiliates.

The programme is arranged unusually, and that is the main thing about it. What is paid is not a percentage of a sale but a fixed sum per event: 400 EUR for every demonstration meeting with the sales department that takes place. That is, the commission is charged for a referred qualified meeting, while carrying the matter through to a deal and selling Trengo the tool undertakes itself. For strategic partners tiered payouts are declared — but the sizes of the tiers are not disclosed.

The charge is one-off: for each meeting. The tool announces no recurring payments from the referred customer's subscription.

The lifetime of the click tag is 90 days ("90-day cookie window").

Who is invited is stated definitely: those who work with the audience of companies with a large flow of enquiries; the benchmark is from 200 enquiries a month at the client. Joining is free, but an application and an introductory conversation with the partnerships team are required. The terms are published as a separate document — Partner terms and conditions, with a link to it in the markup of the homepage. The /partner page has other directions as well — for technology vendors and agencies.

What it will not do

The programme will not pay from the referred customer's subscription: the commission is tied to a demonstration meeting that has taken place, not to a sale and not to the customer's lifetime. Those looking for recurring income should take this into account in advance.

Nor will it pay for a click-through or a registration. There is a 90-day click tag here, but by itself it brings no money: the event that is paid for is the meeting with the sales department, that is, the accounting goes by a referred lead brought as far as a conversation.

The tool does not let you see the sizes of the tiers for strategic partners: the word tiered is named, the figures are not.

Opening the developer documentation at the address found did not work either: the link from the homepage is there, the page does not open.

Pricing

The cheapest paid plan is Boost: 299 EUR a month on yearly billing and 349 EUR monthly. It includes 10 users and 6,000 conversations a year on yearly billing, or 500 conversations a month on monthly. The currency is the euro and the period is a month

The yearly and monthly prices are different statements and both are given. The barrier to entry is high: Trengo has no tier below Boost. At the top of the page hangs a «Black Friday 2026» banner — the prices may have been promotional at the time of the check. A monetary fact, shelf life 90 days

Three tiers. Boost — 299 EUR a month on yearly billing, 349 EUR monthly; 10 users, 6,000 conversations a year or 500 a month. Pro — 499 EUR a month on yearly billing, 599 EUR monthly; 20 users, 18,000 conversations a year or 1,500 a month. Enterprise — «Custom», with users and conversations by agreement and «Contact sales» instead of a price

The difference between the yearly and monthly bill is not only in price but in volume: the yearly one gives 6,000 conversations for the year in one lump, the monthly one 500 a month with no carry-over. The quotations are verbatim

Two counters at once, and both with a published per-unit price — a rarity. Per person: «€30 per user on Boost €50 per user on Pro» on monthly billing and «€25 per user on Boost €40 per user on Pro» on yearly. Per volume: «€18 for 100 conversations» monthly and «€15 for 100 conversations» on yearly billing, and if AI took part in the conversation there is a surcharge of «€0.30 per conversation» monthly and «€0.25 per conversation» yearly. What counts as a conversation Trengo defines itself: «In Trengo, a conversation is defined as an outbound message initiated from the platform, either as the first contact with a customer or as a reply to an inbound message. Each conversation is confined to a 7-day window; if communication with the same customer continues beyond this period, it counts as a new conversation». The WhatsApp, voice and SMS channels with AI are extra: «Charges apply per usage»

A user seat on Pro costs twice as much as on Boost — 50 against 30 EUR a month: it is cheaper to add people on the lower tier. The seven-day conversation window matters more than the rate: one long exchange with a customer is billed as several conversations. Users can be added on every tier — «Across all plans, additional users can be added». The quotations are verbatim

There is no free plan on the pricing page: three tiers, the lowest at 299 EUR a month, and no mention of a free plan or a zero price was encountered on the page. The trial page likewise offers only a trial

The Trengo pricing page was read in full, including the FAQ, as was the page https://trengo.com/try-for-free: neither a free plan nor a price of «€0» is on either. Trengo makes no direct denial — the conclusion comes from its own list of tiers

source, checked 2026-08-07

A 7-day trial period with no card: «7-day», «No credit card required», «Cancel anytime». What exactly the trial includes, and whether it converts to a paid plan by itself, the page does not explain
