Hivebrite

Tool · this deep dive is built from the official pages of the platform itself and of the tools that support it.

Overview

Hivebrite is a platform for managing communities. The tool itself describes itself like this: "the easy to set up & customizable online community engagement platform" (homepage). That is its own assertion, not an independent assessment.

In the same place, on the pricing page, the tool declares more than 2000 client organisations. The figure belongs to Hivebrite and has not been independently checked.

The first thing worth paying attention to is the address. The domain hivebrite.com gives a 404; the working address of the tool is hivebrite.io. In the project's register that has been corrected, but on old links from other people's articles you will end up nowhere.

The set of capabilities the tool declares to be the same for all plans (pricing page): groups, a live feed, member profiles with privacy settings, private messages, a directory and a map of members, events, memberships, platform analytics and access to the community of the tool's own customers. Support at launch is included in all plans too; at the enterprise level a dedicated manager, strategy sessions and workshops are added to it.

A programming interface is declared in all plans — together with single sign-on (SSO) for members and administrators and integrations with Google Tag Manager and Zoom; at the enterprise level the tool promises additional methods of integration (pricing page). Separately the tool declares an integration over the MCP protocol — for connecting the data of the community to AI tools (integrations page).

Which platforms it works with

Social networks in the customary sense — as channels of publishing — Hivebrite does not have in the sources we checked. On the integrations page two platforms are named, LinkedIn and Facebook, and both only as options for logging into the community (Social Login).

Separately, on the same page it is said that synchronisation of the LinkedIn profile is available only to customers from the sphere of higher education. That is, even this single deeper link-up with a platform is not open to everyone.

The rest of the catalogue of integrations is not social networks: CRM, payments, learning management systems (LMS), single sign-on. A caveat about completeness: the integrations page is closed to ordinary reading (it answers with code 403) and was read by a permitted agent.

Pricing

Hivebrite does not publish prices. The pricing page names the levels of the plans and offers to request a quote; for the top level it is said outright, "personalized quote". This is the eleventh tool in the project without a public price.

The names of the plans on this same page contradict one another. On one page two different sets are given: "Core, Flex, Prime, Custom Fit" and "Create, Facilitate, Elevate". The divergence is within one source, not between sources: the page does not say which set is in force. Resolving it from the open data is impossible — when requesting a quote, make clear which plan exactly the price you are being given is for.

Restrictions

Part of the declared notification events does not work yet. The tool declares three kinds of webhooks (integrations page): about members (user.created, user.updated, user.deactivated), about memberships (membership.activated, membership.renewed, membership.cancelled) and about engagement (event.registered, post.published, group.joined). Part of the events on the page is marked as "COMING SOON" — they are declared but do not yet operate. Which of the nine are already working the page does not separate out.

The second restriction is named above: synchronisation of the LinkedIn profile is only for customers from higher education.

How you earn with it

Hivebrite has no affiliate programme — more precisely, none is announced. The addresses /affiliate, /affiliates, /affiliate-program, /partners, /partner-program, /referral, /referral-program have been checked — all answer with code 404. In the site map hivebrite.io/page-sitemap.xml and in the footer of the homepage there are no pages about an affiliate programme either. The check was exhaustive, so this is not a fleeting impression, but it is not a statement of the tool either: it nowhere writes about the absence of a programme itself.

What it will not do

Publishing posts to social networks Hivebrite, judging by the sources we checked, is not intended for: the only two platforms named take part in the role of a login into the community, not of a channel of publishing.

Finding out the price in advance will not work: the plans are closed, and everything goes through a request for a quote. And even the list of plans cannot be taken from the open page — there are two different ones there.

Counting on all nine notification events at once is not advisable: part of them is marked as not yet released.

There is nowhere to earn on recommending the tool: no affiliate programme is announced, and the check was carried out across seven addresses and the site map.
